Aim For Victory And Settle For Nothing Less

“The victor: I will give him the right to sit with Me on My throne, just as I also won the victory and sat down with My Father on His throne.”  Revelation 3:21

Victor:  a person who has overcome or defeated an adversary; a conqueror.  A winner in any struggle or contest

Throne:  the chair or seat occupied by a sovereign, or other exalted one

Victory:  a success or triumph over an enemy in battle or war

Greetings fellow sojourners!  Do you perceive that every single trial you face you were intended to triumphantly march through it, standing and declaring the victory Jesus has procured for you? This does not mean marching, standing and declaring your will but that you would be in line with God’s zenith plans for your life. Faithfully laying down your will and humbly picking up His.  These earthly trials will most definitely persist but we must know they are not laid before our feet as a means to bring about our downfall or to make our lives miserable.  You are divinely equipped to conquer all manor of testing and we faithfully accept them because we know if we are faithful they will bring about our further sanctification.

What trials specifically?  Those trials that ultimately require you to crucify the flesh.  Trials that demand your absolute allegiance to faith.  Trials that demand your full participation in prayer and not just a passive approach that says in frustration, “I give up.”  As time advances forward, our trials will require much more keen discernment and steadfastness as situations (like the need for peace and comfort) more cleverly try to deceive our faith.  Persevere in all these things and Jesus says you and I will be the victors!  He will give us the right to sit with Him on His throne just like the time He won the victory here on earth and the Father allowed Him to sit down with Him on His throne.  Can you fathom it?  Who could?  However, the Word declares it therefore it is true. The Cross of Christ is what empowers, equips, provides, sustains, enriches, strengthens, infuses, enlightens, frees, and emboldens the believer to stop coddling and nurturing the flesh nature.  Paul said a person remains carnal if he knows the things of God yet is still significantly characterized by the workings of the flesh (1 Corinthians 3:1-3).  How does your heart process that?

The Victor will sit on the throne with Jesus.

At no time forget, Jesus is for you!  Face your trial and NEVER give in to defeat.  Keep your head up and eyes focused on Jesus, knowing what awaits you in eternity.  You are victoriously empowered from on high for the precise trial you are currently facing.  Be bold and courageous DIVAs.

In His grace,

That Was Yesterday…Today Is A New Day

“Be angry and do not sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your anger, and don’t give the Devil an opportunity.”  Ephesians 4:26-27

Greetings fellow sojourners!

My daughter recently heard a conversation between two people.  One was relaying a frustrating situation they had experienced while the other one listened.  After the first finished grumbling the second responded, “That was yesterday, today is a new day.  Stop beating a dead horse.” I am wired to see a spiritual application in almost anything (smile) so when my daughter told me this my mind immediately went to Scripture.

The meaning of ‘beating a dead horse’ goes something like this:  it doesn’t matter how much you want to continue riding, beating a dead horse is not going to get you anywhere. If something is already done and over…forget it!  Find a ‘healthier’ horse if you plan to move on.  Is this painting an interesting picture to you?

How often do we practice the gracious skill of forgiveness?  Is it part of our daily routine?  Ephesians says to not even allow the sun to set on your anger.  Apparently, this produces fertile ground for the enemy.  Since he is an opportunist, if you maintain your anger after you are Spiritually instructed not to, you have just propped open your door wide enough to allow Satan an opportunity.  DIVAs, we do not want to give him an inch!  The wisdom of Scripture powerfully instructs us, let’s heed the advice!  Leave the ‘dead horse’ alone and ask God the Father to provide us a strong and noble steed that is worthy of His child because He intends for us to indeed move on!

“Because of the Lord’s faithful love we do not perish, for His mercies never end. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness!”  Lamentations 3:22-23

So, we do not carry over anything to the next sun rise.  No anger, no bitterness, no doubt, no disappointment, no ____________________ .  Because God is faithful, His abundant mercies are new every morning!  Be intentional and add forgiveness and the acquisition of peace to your new bedtime habit.  As you witness the sun setting, may it be your daily reminder to relinquish the appropriate emotion into the hands of your Father.  As the sun rises the next day expect His mercy to fill you; mercy not only towards you, but mercy for you towards your situation.

Since we know we are to let things go at sunset (Ephesians) and receive at sunrise (Lamentations), let’s boldly recognize that as we relinquish our anger to God He will provide His bountiful mercy and grace so that we are able to discern how to proceed the next day.  Pray before your feet hit the floor and then proceed in full assurance knowing He will provide what you need to be victorious that day.  Just as the sun set brings an end and the sun rise brings a beginning, so must you approach God in prayer for equipping each day.  Be bold and victorious in Christ Jesus DIVAs.  You, without a doubt, were destined to be extremely impactful in this generation!

In His extraordinary grace,

Jesus Meets Us Where We Are

Greetings sojourning DIVAs!  So blessed to serve you with an edifying word that hopefully meets you right where you are in this beautifully blessed season of your life!  The more I have an opportunity to talk with people the more I am convinced we must have the transforming power of Scripture fervently tucked away in our heart and ready to graciously spill out to edify someone else at a moments notice as God gives the opportunity. Do you make it a point in your life to memorize God’s amazingly powerful Word in order to share and expound with someone who needs that sweet refreshing?  We are blessed to be a blessing!  We don’t need to act weird or awkward when communicating what the truth of Scripture means to us and how it has positively influenced our lives to the unrelenting glory of God.  A life lived out in this truth, always courageously ready to share how the word made flesh has miraculously impacted your life for the good is what people need most in this amazingly unhinged world.  Do you agree?  Satan may very well be the prince of this world but his kingdom contains nothing more than rusty gates, broken shackles, and light where deep darkness once was for those that have allowed Jesus, the most beautiful thing your eyes will ever behold, to take over your heart and cause it to dazzle.

Do you recall where you were when you first heard the magnificent Word spoken to you and the power it displayed in that person’s life that you wanted to experience the revolutionary transformation for yourself?  Well sweet thing, the baton has been passed to you and the beauty of the Lord radiating throughout your life is being observed by a multitude.  Keep looking for someone to pass sweet Jesus to.  The word made flesh met you right where you were in that season of your life and has had a lasting impact on you.  Let’s not expect people to come where we are and hope Jesus to meet them there.  Jesus goes to the depths of each hurting person’s soul and meets them right where they are.  We experience different trials and journey at different paces.  Forgive us Lord for being so prideful that we expect everyone to be right where we are and judging them as less because they are not at our level.  We recall the depths from which you have pulled us and we will honor the faith walk of others as they are pulled from their depths at Your own sweet precious time.  Let’s go to the trenches sweet things and retrieve some hurting souls.  Why?  Because Jesus gladly goes to the trenches and pits regularly to retrieve His lost sheep.  Are you willing to go ahead of Him and shine His light in those dark places?

Sweet thing, there is someone needing to know Jesus at the place they are.  Look around you with the unsurpassed incredible mercy that is found only in Jesus Christ of Nazareth and introduce them to the love of your life.

In the outlandish mercy of Christ,
