Be Tamed In Christ (revisiting a prior message)

Greetings mighty warriors of the living God!

524377553_4cb7cdbdf9_zMost people would agree a tamed horse is a gentle horse. One of the fruits of being yielded to the Spirit (Gal. 5:22) is gentleness. It is God’s will that you are amazingly strong in the Lord yet beautifully gentle in spirit at the same time! This type of gentleness suggest your will has been brought under strict self-control by yielding to His Spirit. How divine….

In the Eyes of THE Beholder (Revisited Message)

“Your beauty should not consist of outward things like elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold ornaments or fine clothes.  Instead, it should consist of what is inside the heart with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very valuable in God’s eyes. “

 (1 Peter 3:3-4)

Praise God for HIS beauty and truth!  When we put our hope in God our hearts are freed up to be beautiful! When our hearts are free to love, our image is absolutely radiant.   I do not take Peter’s words as a prohibition toward outward beauty practices.  However, our primary effort should not rest with trying to be pleasing primarily based on our outward appearance.  You may be thinking this is hardly worth mentioning but search your heart and determine if it is true.

“And this is LOVE: that we walk according to His commands. This is the command as you have heard it from the beginning: you must walk in love.”  2 John 1:6

“Little children, we must not LOVE with word or speech, but with truth and action.”  1 John 3:18

“By obedience to the truth, having purified yourselves for sincere LOVE of the brothers, love one another earnestly from a pure heart, since you have been born again ~ not of perishable seed but of imperishable ~ through the living and enduring word of God.” 1 Peter 1:22-23

“Now the goal of our instruction is LOVE that comes from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith.”  1 Timothy 1:5

“About brotherly LOVE: You don’t need me to write you because you yourselves are taught by God to LOVE one another.”                     1 Thessalonians 4:9

“And may the Lord cause you to increase and overflow with LOVE for one another and for everyone.”  1 Thessalonians 3:12

“Now these three remain: faith, hope, and LOVE. But the greatest of these is LOVE.”                             1 Corinthians 13:13

“LOVE must be without hypocrisy. Detest evil; cling to what is good.”  Romans 12:9

“I give you a new command: LOVE one another. Just as I have loved you, you must also LOVE one another. By this all people will know that you are My disciples, if you have LOVE for one another.”  John 13:24-25

“LOVE the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”  Luke 10:27

“But whoever keeps His word, truly in him the LOVE of God is perfected. This is how we know we are in Him: The one who says he remains in Him should walk just as He walked”  1 John 2:5-6

Greetings in love fellow sojourners!  Last week we looked at the fruit of the Spirit demonstrated through love.  Has anyone taken steps to improve or learn how to draw God’s love from the Spirit in us (taken from Part 1)?  That love indeed is sourced from a well that never runs dry!  That is a vital truth.  Love (agape) is God’s character infused in us by His Spirit.  It is not our failures and short-comings but His perfect endurance that overrides our failures and short-comings enabling us to love His way!

The Fruit of the Spirit is…Love (Part 1)

hqdefaultWhen you accepted Jesus Christ as the Savior of your soul you were given His Spirit to reside in you to assist you in your earthly tenure and as a down payment of eternal things.  As you yield yourself to the Spirit (He goes first in your thinking, words, and deeds), you will exhibit characteristics of the Spirit the Bible calls ‘fruit’.  This fruit comes in 9 varieties:

“The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, self-control.”

Galatians 5:22
