The Sovereignty of God

“The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the LORD. All the ways of a man are clean in his own sight, but the LORD weighs the motives. Commit your works to the LORD, and your plans will be established. The LORD has made everything for its own purpose, even the wicked for the day of evil.”

Proverbs 16:1-4

Greetings fellow sojourners! Our discussion last week relating to the sovereignty of God really got me thinking! I want to share one of the verses I came across. The overall emphasis here is that man proposes (plans) but God disposes. Isn’t that true! The results of ALL things are in His hands, under His authority, and within His power ~ not ours. Do we know this sweet things or are we still experimenting with what ‘we’ can do?…

Rattled? Not Me (Revisiting a prior message)

“David fled that day from Saul’s presence and went to King Achish of Gath. But Achish’s servants said to him, “Isn’t this David, the king of the land? Don’t they sing about him during their dances: Saul has killed his thousands, but David his tens of thousands?” David took this to heart and became very afraid of King Achish of Gath, so he pretended to be insane in their presence. He acted like a madman around them, scribbling on the doors of the gate and letting saliva run down his beard. “Look! You can see the man is crazy,” Achish said to his servants, “Why did you bring him to me? Do I have such a shortage of crazy people that you brought this one to act crazy around me? Is this one going to come into my house?”

(1 Samuel 21:10-15)

When David learned that Goliath was disgracing Israel into fear by his arrogant taunts, he boldly trumpeted one of my favorite proclamations in the bible.  “Who is this Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?” (1 Samuel 17:26)…

From Stronghold to Victory (Revisiting a Prior Message)

Think of your area of weakness. Give it a name (ex: fear, unloved, bitterness, anger…). Picture this with me. Every time you act out of your area of weakness, you lay a brick down at your feet. You do not have to search for the bricks because your enemy (Satan) happily supplies them. The opportunities are plentiful and the years have accumulated so your bricks may have developed into a wall. Each time you operate out of that weakness and it remains an unconfessed and unrepented act of sin, you place another brick. Do you now find yourself surrounded by a wall that you have constructed with your own hands?…

“The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, my God, my mountain where I seek refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”

The Power of the FULL Armor (Revisiting a prior message)

You sweet, sweet DIVAs. I am drawn back to the well for more refreshing in the “full” armor of God. Will you join me? No matter what the cost, let’s be prepared and readied to stand. Lord, let it fall fresh on us and allow us to stand strong and resist the enemy of the church. If you discover that you are lacking regarding a piece of the armor please post and we will join you in prayer! It is my heart’s desire! We are on the battlefield defending what God has given and holding our position in Jesus while standing strong in prayer – shoulder to shoulder. When one sister falls weak we lift her up in prayer (picture holding one up with an arm around her while still armed, on the look out, and praying) while the Lord strengthens her with the Truth until she is ready to stand again. Hallelujah!…
