Hallalujah! – Emilie has received the fear of the Lord!
This week marks the beginning of the Lord’s feast called Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles). Spiritually, Sukkot is a time of thanksgiving and joy. Joy, in that our sins have been forgiven (Yom Kippur) and thanksgiving (Sukkot) for the mercies of God. God’s mercies were evident when he miraculously provided and cared for His people after the deliverance from bondage in Egypt. The more I speak with people the more aware I become of the needs of things only God provide. When the Israelites were in the wilderness and exposed to the elements, they became acutely aware that God was their only covering. While living out this life under the sun, what have you allowed to be your covering, usurping God? Come Yeshua, come!
According to Zechariah 14:16, Sukkot prophetically speaks of the nations coming to Jerusalem to worship the King and celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. Hallalujah! During this week the Lord calls His people to rejoice before Him (Deut. 16:13-14, Lev. 23:40)! Do you see this as a command to put aside your troubles and provide the Lord a sacrifice of praise? I challenge you this week to view your momentary and light afflictions through the eyes of Joy and choose rejoicing!
The following are fascinating verses regarding the time when Yeshua was born.
1. Tabernacles is known as the “Season of our Joy”. When the angels announced to the shepherds the birth of our Messiah, they said,”Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people Luke 2:10.
2. According to Jewish tradition, a prayer was recited on the first day of the feast that says,”Glory to God in the Heavens and on the earth peace and good will towards the earth.” This sounds very similar to the passage in Luke that describes the angels proclaiming,”Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased” Luke 2:14.
3. During the Feast, Jews from the nations would gather. The Inns were filled and the overflow extended to Bethlehem, since it was close to Jerusalem. The Scripture says, “and she wrapped Him in clothes, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the Inn.
4. The Gospel accounts for shepherds being in the field tending their flocks. It couldn’t have been winter, because the flocks would not be in the fields, but sheltered in caves.
5. Jewish Tradition states that the sheep to be sacrificed at Tabernacles were kept in the fields for 7 days and sacrificed on the 8th. They were out all night. So, the shepherds would be too. Normally, the sheep would be brought in at night.
Shall we prayerfully consider this timeline? Luke records a priest named Zacharias, of the division of Abijah, ministering in the temple, whose wife was Elizabeth. He was performing his priestly service as outlined in 1 Chronicles 24:10 That would be approximately June 1 to June 8. (Luke 1:5-25) An angel named Gabriel, told Zechariah they would have a son. After his priestly duty Elizabeth became pregnant. It can be calculated from this information that their son, John the Baptist, was born at Passover. In Elizabeth’s 6th month of pregnancy, Gabriel told Mary that she would be the mother of the Messiah when the Holy Spirit came upon her (this would have been in December). Nine months later, in September, she gave birth to a precious boy named Yeshua. This would be during the time of Tabernacles. Special events seem to always fall on Yahweh’s Divine Appointments.
Sukkot is all about the Holy One dwelling or tabernacling with his people. The Word became flesh and took up residence (tabernacled) among us John 1:14. Come Yeshua, come!

A Beautiful Season
On Tuesday September 15, 2015 the new moon was sighted in Jerusalem marking the beginning of the Biblical feast of Yom Teruah (Feast of Trumpets). Based on this sighting, the following Biblical dates for the holidays were declared as follows:
Yom Teruah (Feast of Trumpets): sunset Sep 15 to sunset Sep 16
Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement): sunset Sep 24 to sunset Sep 25
Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles) Day 1: sunset Sep 29 to sunset Sep 30
Shemini Atzeret (The eighth day of assembly): sunset Oct 6 to sunset Oct 7
These are the Feasts of the Lord, mostly known as the Feast of the Jews, (because that is who we observe keeping them) but anyone who is the commonwealth of Israel, grafted in the vine of Yeshua, can be included in this. (please see Gal. 3:29, Romans 11) Our Heavenly Father picked a people group, Israel, to be His covenant people (Deuteronomy 7:6-9). However, He always welcomed the foreigner who wanted to join Israel (such as the mixed multitude who left during the Exodus, Exodus 12:37) but they were expected to act as Israel did by keeping His commands and ordinances (Exodus 12:37-38, 49). Do you keep any of the Feasts?
These Fall Feasts are focused on “preparing to meet your maker.” Prayer, fasting, forgiveness of others, reflecting on our lives, and how we need Him to continue shaping us into the spotless bride He desires! What a perfect season for prayers for salvation! Praise Yahweh!! On September 15th, the Feast of Trumpets was celebrated by the blowing of the shofar (trumpet), ushering in the Season and the holiest day of Yeshua’s calendar, the Day of Atonement.
IMG_0985 (make sure you view this video of Diana blowing the shofar!)
“Happy are the people who know the joyful shout; (Hebrew word teruah meaning alarm, signal, shout, war cry and shout of joy!) Yahweh, they walk in the light of Your presence. They rejoice in Your name all day long, and they are exalted by Your righteousness.” (Psalm 89:15-16) This trumpet call symbolizes our call to warfare, intercession, listening to our Father’s voice, absolute obedience, and unity among our brethren (Ex. 19:5, 2 Co.10:5, Rev. 14:12, John 10:27, Jer. 33:3, Eph. 6:12, Matt. 5:24).
Listen for the sound of the trumpet! It is most certainly a summons, a war-cry, a warning to prepare, or a wake up call from slumbering. Which is it for you? During this time of praying specifically for the Salvation of 112 identified people (from post dated September 15, 2015) may the Lord grant that they awake from their slumber in order to have an opened ear to hear the trumpet call over their own lives! Will you join me this week in continuing to pray for those identified? The information presented today serves to lift up our heads and be aware of the season we are in but also as an additional tool to set our hearts ablaze as we pray for Salvation!
How remarkable are these verses that speak of the glorious things associated with the sound of the Lord’s trumpet! Are you living in anticipation? And even more so, is this what you are living for?
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the archangel’s voice, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are still alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words.
Matthew 24:31 He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.
1 Corinthians 15:51-52 Listen! I am telling you a mystery: We will not all fall asleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the blink of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we will be changed.
In His grace,

He gave Himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to cleanse for Himself a people for His own possession, eager to do good works. Say these things, and encourage and rebuke with all authority. Let no one disregard you.
Lord, would you bring to these people an awareness of sin and a softness of heart that they would be drawn to you? Will you join me in praying for the salvation of this multitude? If you have names you would added (or spelling changes) please indicate in the comment section.

The Relevance of Speaking in Tongues and Giving Interpretation
Welcome to the concluding part of the on-line bible study in which we have been prayerfully considering 1 Corinthians 12:7-11. In this final installment we will explore gifts of tongues and interpretation. Verse 10 of 1 Corinthians 12 reads, ‘to another, different kinds of languages, to another, interpretation of languages’. When you speak in a tongue it is in a language different than your own. Strongs defines the Greek word translated language in this way: ‘The Greek word glossa has traditionally been translated as “tongue” because the Greek word is used for the organ of speech as well as for a language. Some see glossolalia as having a specialized meaning: either ecstatic speech or heavenly languages.’ When interpreting the tongue it is utilizing the ability given by the Spirit to give the meaning of the words previously spoken in the unknown language. The interpretation does not have to come as an exact translation. How do you know if you are to give an interpretation after someone speaks in an unknown language or ‘tongue’? Perhaps you will have a ‘fluttery’ sense in your abdomen or words of Scripture that ‘must be spoken’. Maybe you will perceive words or even a picture. Go ahead and provide the interpretation you were given and see what else shall follow. Even though these two gifts are supplied by the Spirit, it is always under your control whether or not you will speak them.
One point I think is particularly important to take note of is the different kind of tongues. One is for personal spiritual edification (1 Corinthians 14:5, 26-27) and the other is for public ministry. As stated in 1 Corinthians 12:28, not all believers have a public ministry of tongues (A language or ‘tongue’ for personal spiritual edification is not what is spoken about here in this verse) as is true for gifts of healing, miracles, or teachers. All yielded baptized-in-the-Spirit believers have the ability to operate in tongues for personal spiritual edification. Have you ever wondered what would be the purpose of speaking in another language or ‘tongue’? I think of 1 Corinthians 2:13-15. ‘We also speak these things, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual things to spiritual people. But the unbeliever does not welcome what comes from God’s Spirit, because it is foolishness to him; he is not able to understand it since it is evaluated spiritually’. If the Spirit is speaking to us it will be communicated for our understanding. Do you think He will at times speak to us in a heavenly language? His Spirit to our spirit. When we are filled and yielded to the Spirit then we are influenced by the Spirit. Have you ever pondered the idea that if we speak things taught by the Spirit then we can also use the Spirit’s language at times? Praise God.
According to the Linguistic Society of America, “much pioneering work in documenting the languages of the world has been done by missionary organizations (such as the Summer Institute of Linguistics, now known as SIL International) with an interest in translating the Christian Bible. As of 2009, at least a portion of the bible had been translated into 2,508 different languages, still a long way short of full coverage”. How amazing! Did you know there are about 6800 to 6900 distinct languages in the modern world? Have you ever thought of the Spirit’s ability to speak intimately to believers in these vast number of languages? Through the Spirit, we are able to manifest what is beneficial to His people such as a message of wisdom and knowledge, faith, gifts of healing, working of miracles, prophecy, distinguishing between spirits, different kinds of languages and interpretation of languages. Would you be willing to be yielded to the Spirit if He desired to reach someone in our midst by a word spoken through us in an unknown language? How incredible! Lord, I desire to look beyond my present understanding and set my eyes on things that have eternal purposes.
♥Prayer: Father, I repent of beliefs I have held that do not line up with Your word and demolish barriers that have kept me from Your best. Forgive me Lord if I have held steadfast to notions that has caused my mind to think less than what you really are. Give me spiritual eyes so I can see things that have eternal purposes instead of my main focus being rooted in things of this earth. I hunger for my spiritual awareness to be weightier than the common awareness of things my senses reveal. I desire to yield to Your Spirit and to be Your instrument to reach Your people in whatever way You choose. I ask the Spirit to teach me things of Himself and I will be open to learning Spiritual things that my intellect may have rejected in the past. My desire is to live in-step with the Spirit, however that may look. I ask and receive in the name of Jesus in which all things are possible.
Praise God for time in prayer and worship!
♥1 Corinthians 14:2 For the person who speaks in another _______________________ is _________ speaking to men but to ____________, since no one ___________________________ him; however, he speaks __________________ in the ___________________. This verse is describing a time when man is speaking to God and is a (devotional) language for personal edification and therefore needs no interpretation. It is for private communion with God and is for the purpose of edification of your own spiritual life. I remember a season I was praying intensely with my understanding and I stopped and began praying in the Spirit without a mindful direction of the prayer. A peace came over me and I had such joy with the revelation of knowing God knew my situation and I had allowed Him full control. My joy did not come from the knowledge of any outcome but solely from the knowledge of His presence! Don’t you just know that when He is present in a situation it will be perfect! More than we could ever ask or think! Hallelujah!
The gift of tongues (1 Corinthians 12:28) is manifested when a believer, baptized in the Spirit is inspired to speak in tongues while assembled with others. The interpretation of the tongue should follow. ♥1 Corinthians 14:27-28 If _______ person speaks in another ___________________, there should be _________ two, or at the _________ three, each in __________, and someone must ______________. But if there is _____ _________________, that person should __________ ___________ in the ______________ and speak to ____________ and to _________. If believers are assembled with unbelievers or an uninstructed believer, this should not be used unless an explanation is given. 1 Corinthians 12:23 explains: Therefore, if the whole church assembles together and all are speaking in other languages and people who are uninformed or unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are out of your minds?
♥1 Corinthians 12:28, 30 And God has _________________ these in the church. Do ________ speak in other ________________? Do all ________________? Paul is speaking of ministering gifts that God has set in the church. Since believers operate as a body (Each with different functions that are meant to work together effectively. Not everyone needs to operate in every gift.) If everyone ministered to the assembly in a different tongue who would be present to manifest God’s healing? If everyone taught then who would listen? And why would everyone be used to manifest God’s miracles all at once? God is one of order not disorder. As His child we are to act in the exact manner. We do not do anything impulsively. If you sense the Spirit giving a witness to your spirit, pray quietly and ask if you are to share. If you are, then by all means do so! Never speak out by interrupting or steamrolling but mention the Lord has brought something to you and you would like to share.
♥1 Corinthians 14:22 It follows that speaking in other _____________________ is ___________________ as a _____________, not for believers but for _________________. This is a language spoken that needs interpretation. If an unbeliever hears a tongue and the interpretation convicts them of sin, it is meant as a sign inspiring them to turn to Jesus.
♥1 Corinthians 14:13-17 Therefore the person who speaks in another language should _________________ that he can ________________. For if I _____________ in another __________________________, my spirit ___________, but my understanding is ____________________. What then? I will ____________ with the ____________, and I will also _____________ with my __________________. I will _________ with the ____________, and I will also __________ with my _____________________. Otherwise, if you praise with the spirit, how will the uninformed person say “ Amen” at your giving of thanks, since he does not know what you are saying? For you may very well be giving thanks, but the other person is not being built up. Amen! The sole intention of gifts is for edification, comfort, and encouragement. If you have been given a gift of the Spirit and it is meant for your edification, keep it for a private time. If, however, it is meant for edification, comfort, or encouragement of other believers then it should be brought forth. In these verses, Paul is speaking of the importance of edification of others. In the preceding verses, He explains how we should desire to be close to each other and not be so distinct that we cause a separation between believers. If someone speaks in a tongue and there is no interpretation no one benefits and the result is fruitless. Verse 13 says the person who speaks in another language should pray that he can interpret. If Scripture instructs us to pray for something, why not do it? Let us all pray to interpret.
♥Acts 2:1-8 When the day of Pentecost had arrived, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a __________________ like that of a violent rushing _____________ came from _____________, and it ___________ the whole house where they were staying. And ______________, like flames of _________ that were divided, appeared to them and ___________ on each one of them. Then they were all ___________ with the ________ __________ and began to ____________ in different _________________, as the Spirit gave them ______________ for speech. There were Jews living in Jerusalem, devout men from every nation under heaven. When this sound occurred, a crowd came together and was confused because each one heard them speaking in his own language. And they were astounded and amazed, saying, “Look, aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans? How is it that each of us can hear in our own native language? In Jewish tradition there were three signs of the Spirit’s coming – wind, fire, and inspired speech. (This alone could justify an entire study) What were they speaking? The magnificent acts of God! Shall we be so filled with the Spirit that there is nothing more to say? Glory to God that it be so! May our lives be so filled with the Spirit that what impacts our heart and therefore overflows from our mouths are the magnificent acts of God.
♥Mark 16:17 And these ____________ will accompany those who _______________: In My ______________ they will drive out demons; they will speak in ________ ____________________. Acts 2:1-8 demonstrates the new tongues that Christ told them they would speak with in this verse. Jesus spoke with the Eleven and gave them instructions to go into all the world and preach the gospel. He informed them that one of the signs that accompanied believers would be speaking in new languages (tongues).
♥1 Corinthians 14:4a The person who ________ in another ___________ _________ himself up. This is speaking of personal spiritual edification. There is no indication here that the person understand the language or tongue. The word ‘builds up’ is interesting. The Greek word refers to a house builder, embolden, to build from the foundation, to restore by building, to rebuild or repair. Metaphorically it speaks of promoting growth in Christian wisdom, affection, grace, virtue, holiness, and blessedness. So a person who speaks in another language or tongue for personal spiritual edification is like a person building a house beginning with a solid foundation of impeccable Christian values. Does it get any better?
♥1 Corinthians 14:18-19 I thank God that I speak in other _____________ more than all of you; yet in the ________________ I would rather speak five words with my understanding, in order to ______________ others also, than 10,000 words in another language. Paul could responsibly speak in other languages more than the others. Here he is speaking not of tongues for personal edification but for ministry in the church. If a tongue is brought forth but no interpretation is offered than the tongue does not bring edification to the church and is therefore not helpful.
~The next three verses are not directly related to tongues or the interpretation but are beneficial for maturity and deserve notice.
♥Ephesians 4:29 No __________ language is to come from your mouth, but only what is good for _________________ up someone in need, so that it gives _____________ to those who hear. If we are to be so graced by God’s words He desires to come forth from us, why would we ever want to pollute our mouth with foul language? We should avoid this type of behavior and go on to maturity! Lay aside the behaviors and thoughts of unbelievers and stand out from among them. Let us move on to maturity!
♥James 3:10-12 _______________ and _______________ come out of the __________ mouth. My brothers, these things _____________ ________ ___________ this way. Does a ___________ pour out _______ and __________ water from the same opening? Can a fig tree produce olives, my brothers, or a grapevine produce figs? Neither can a saltwater spring yield fresh water. Let us move on to maturity!
♥Colossians 3:8 But now you must also ______ ___________ all the following: _________, ____________, malice, slander, and filthy ________________________ from your mouth. (Also consider James 3:4-6) If the words of the Spirit of God shall come forth from our mouths why would we ever expect such holy things to pass through such pollution? What union can there be between God’s sanctuary (which is what you are) and things we allow to pollute that sanctuary? From the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. What are we allowing to penetrate our hearts? It is wrong for believers to join in the ways of the wicked and profane. Let us move on to maturity!
Thank you Lord for the exhortation from 1 Peter 4:7-11. Now the end of all things is near; therefore, be serious and disciplined for prayer. Above all, maintain an intense love for each other, since love covers a multitude of sins. Be hospitable to one another without complaining. Based on the gift each one has received, use it to serve others, as good managers of the varied grace of God. If anyone speaks, it should be as one who speaks God’s words; if anyone serves, it should be from the strength God provides, so that God may be glorified through Jesus Christ in everything. To Him belong the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.
If God’s love can conquer you whereby leading you to submit yourself completely to God, you can serve Him in ways you never imagined. Peace results when your will is dethroned in your heart and the Lord is allowed to reign. If this has not been settled, inner turmoil is created as a result of your desires relentlessly devising ways to usurp the King. Shall we cast aside immaturity once and for all and demand our will pledge its loyalty to the King? Bow your heart not just your knees at the throne of grace. Now stand alongside the Darling of heaven wearing your new Kingdom clothing, the robe of righteousness. Grieving the Sprit of God by lessening His ability to manifest Himself through you is a thing of the past. Rise purchased child, and live your remaining days on this earth fully yielded to the Spirit and thereby fulfilling your calling.
Please indicate in the comment section any spiritual growth you have received – my heart desires to know! If you have received knowledge of your gift in the Spirit and desire to see manifestations of the Spirit you must get out there and serve. May the Lord bless you as you go in faith and expect magnificent demonstrations of His Spirit as you minister to His people. May the Lord’s face shine upon you and give you peace as you go forth “good and faithful servant” of the living God!
Remember: (1) Pray the prayer throughout the week (or your own specific prayer relating to tongues and interpretation) asking the Lord to reveal insight to you. *Try not to take your prayer time lightly as you seek the Lord regarding insight into these gifts of the Spirit. (2) Fast as you are able on Tuesday. (3) Complete the Scripture blanks for further study. And (4) if you have not already done so, add your name in the comment section indicating your intent to participate – it is never too late!

The Equipping of Knowledge
Praise God for His knowledge! We need it in our lives in every occasion. The gift of the word of knowledge is to show the believer how to pray more effectively, to give protection, or to show how to help others. I read something recently I would love to share with you regarding praying with confidence in the knowledge of God. Before you make your request to God, search the Scriptures to find knowledge regarding how God feels about your need. In this way, there is no need to tack on to the end of the prayer “if it is Your will” because you have already attained the knowledge that it is. If it is not His will, then don’t pray in that direction. Pray instead that your will be in line with His. Once this is settled, pray with confidence! Ask the Lord so that your joy may be complete (John 16:24)! Thank Him in faith when you finish praying and not just when your senses have beheld the reality of the answered prayer (Mark 11:24). Search the Scripture for knowledge of particular verses to pray. The knowledge of God’s will must direct our prayers.
The gift of a word of knowledge can be received in a moment when a tiny portion of God’s knowledge is imparted to you by the Holy Spirit, bringing insight to a situation. A word of knowledge can speak of things only God would know, which can increase faith in believers or bring truth to an unbeliever. Knowledge can be separated into four sorts: (1) natural human knowledge (an acquaintance with facts, truths, or principles attained from personal study), (2) the fallen world’s supernatural knowledge (The natural mind gaining information by supernatural means that do not involve the Spirit of God. Some examples are the occult, the psychic, and the metaphysical), (3) true intellectual knowledge (results from knowing God through Jesus, being filled with the Spirit, and studying the Word), and (4) the gift of the word of knowledge (originates from God and is imparted by the Holy Spirit for a specific purpose). Whatever part of your life that is yielded to wisdom and knowledge you will thrive. Where you have places of pride you will stagnate and be hindered. Humble yourself in the fear of the Lord.
When Jesus left his position in glory with his father, he took on flesh. In doing so, he laid aside many things, one being His omniscience (all-knowing). In order to fulfill His purpose He had to rely on the Spirit to receive the knowledge required for His ministry. Just as He relied on the Spirit for knowledge, we are to do the same and it is just as available to us today! Hallelujah!
♥Prayer: Lord, you are the One who teaches knowledge. Thank you Lord for the anointing I received from the Holy One and the knowledge that has come from You so far. Come Holy Spirit and teach my heart, where true knowledge is manifested. I commit myself to studying the Scripture in order to receive Your further knowledge and to be guarded against false teaching and unbelief. Guide my prayers with knowledge. Please give me a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You. I yield myself to your knowledge and wisdom. Fill me Lord, fill me! Amen.
Be blessed in worship with the song ‘There is a Fountain’.
♥Psalm 139:6 This extraordinary ___________________ is beyond me. It is lofty; I am unable to reach it. The knowledge of God graciously discerns in favor of those who are loyal to the Lord. Do you find God’s favor toward you too wonderful to comprehend? Do you desire to be equipped with knowledge that is ‘extraordinary’? Lord, impart to me knowledge I need for life.
♥Proverbs 1:7 The _______ of the ____________ is the beginning of _____________; fools despise wisdom and discipline. Fear of the Lord is your foundation for success in this life and the platform from which you spring into eternity. Have you considered that nothing can be hidden from Him? God does not overlook things we might consider ‘innocent’ sin and He certainly does not overlook lawlessness. This reverential fear of the Lord is the prerequisite of knowledge. If you seek knowledge, first plant your heart in the fertile ground of the fear of the Lord. When YOU draw near to God, He will draw near to you (James 4:8). Thank you Lord!!!
♥Proverbs 1:29-31 Because they hated _______________, didn’t ____________ to fear the Lord, were not ____________________ in my counsel, and ________________ all my correction, they will ________ the ________ of their way and be _____________ with their ________ __________________. According to the verse above, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. In this verse, the people hated knowledge so they choose not to fear God. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. This fruit is quite lovely indeed and is evident in a life yielded to the Spirit. Those who do not choose the fear of the Lord and hate knowledge will not have the fruit of the Spirit but instead will produce the fruit of corruption and rebellion. The fruit you produce is a result of YOUR choosing.
♥Proverbs 2:5-6 …then you will ________________ the __________ of the Lord and discover the ___________________ of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. God is the source of knowledge. From this spring of knowledge you will find THE path of life and the Word made flesh.
♥Proverbs 2:10 For wisdom will enter your mind, and _______________ will _____________ your heart. How glorious indeed to have a heart that is delighted! This verse asserts knowledge will do just that. Possessing God’s knowledge puts you head and shoulders above the world. Being skilled to discern with this knowledge protects you from evil and the repercussions of naiveté.
♥Proverbs 9:10 “The ___________ of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the _______________ of the ________ ___________ is understanding. Are you catching the theme here of the fear of the Lord and how it provides knowledge?
♥Proverbs 12:1 Whoever ___________ discipline loves ___________________, but one who hates correction is ________________. I read something on this verse that compares one being stupid with a dumb animal. Let’s ‘roll around’ with this for a minute. If you have ever owned a pet you will be able to quickly see the analogy. I have had the privilege of owning several dogs over my years. When choosing my pet, I am only drawn to the highly trainable. I would much prefer a not-so-cute dog that is intelligent over an adorable dog that is an imbecile. An untrainable dog is completely frustrating to me and does not fit well in my household. (I apologize in advance to anyone I might have offended by stating my preferences) However, a clever dog is a pure delight! Now let’s look back at the verse. Using the analogy provided, how do you think God appreciates your love of discipline and your ‘trainability’? ______________________________________________________________
♥Proverbs 14:7 Stay _____________ from a _____________ man; you will gain ______ ____________________ from his ________________. How does a foolish person add to your knowledge and understanding? There are places in Scripture where we are warned to avoid certain types of people and to seek out others…here is one of them.
♥Proverbs 15:2 The _______________ of the _______________ makes knowledge _________________, but the mouth of _____________ blurts out _____________________, and Proverbs 15:14 A _____________________ mind seeks _______________________, but the mouth of fools _____________ on ___________________. Can you discern if a person is wise or foolish by what is said? A wise person discerns how to make the knowledge of God attractive. We must keep a vigilant watch over our mouths. Don’t risk your testimony over an unguarded mouth.
♥Proverbs 24:5-6 A _____________warrior is better than a strong one, and a man of ____________________ than one of strength; for you should wage war with sound _________________________. You are a warrior in the army of the living God! In war, brute force (pure muscle or harsh words) may win some battles but wisdom and knowledge wins the war. Do you realize you are quite often in a spiritual battle? Of course they are only battles because the Lord has ultimately won the war! The spiritual battles you are in are not against flesh and blood but against dark spiritual forces. When you realize this, you are then engaging in the war equipped with knowledge. When you fight your spiritual battle you are instructed to take up the full armor of God (Eph. 6:13-17) and the knowledge of God will give you the sound guidence required. Battling any other way is waging war according to how the world battles. You are a child and warrior of the King and the Kingdom for which you are defending is spiritual.
♥Ecclesiastes 2:26 For to the man who is _________________ in His sight, He gives wisdom, _____________________, and joy, but to the sinner He _____________ the ___________ of gathering and accumulating _______ _____________ to give to the one who is ___________________ in God’s sight. Do you seek the Lord’s favor? For the one who is pleasing to Him, He gives the knowledge needed to live rightly the life you have been entrusted with. The sinner toils endlessly and all the accumulating is done without the wisdom and knowledge to then properly have enjoyment. Before long it is merely passed on to someone else.
♥Isaiah 5:13 Therefore My people will go into ______________ because they lack ____________________. This is speaking of the result of Judah’s sin, however, WE are God’s people. If we lack knowledge, we too can go into exile (as a captive and lead away disgracefully). Desire to have knowledge of the work of the Lord and His ways. Let us have knowledge of Christ and of His mercy and grace. We have the means of knowledge so we will not be rebellious and refuse to make use of it and therefore live life as if we are excluded.
♥Isaiah 47:10 You were ___________ in your wickedness; you said, ‘No one _________ me.’ Your wisdom and _______________________ led you astray. You said to yourself, ‘____exist, and there is no _______ _________ else.’ Our wisdom and knowledge will lead us astray. It tends to become prideful and exalts itself. God’s knowledge is available to His children and we will prosper if we choose to live by it. Let it not be so that we feel so ‘secure’ in our old habits and practices. Let us not be deceived in thinking that because we have not yet received discipline from the Lord that He has not seen. God is omniscient (all-knowing) and omnipresent (present everywhere at the same time).
♥Hosea 4:6 ________ people are ________________ for lack of ________________. Because you have rejected knowledge, I will reject you from serving as My priest. The Old Testament priests had not been teaching the people about God and His law so the people were being destroyed for lack of knowledge. According 1 Peter 2:5,9 we are the priests of God. Hallelujah! There is knowledge needed and an accountability that goes along with that. Let us not be in lack nor reject knowledge. Fear the Lord and rise up as you are called by Him!
♥Hosea 6:6 For I desire ______________ and not sacrifice, the _____________________ of God rather than burnt offerings. In our day, let us have our worship indeed but it must be with a proper heart. The Lord still desires our loyal hearts and a desire to have knowledge about Him. The challenge is not so much in the praise and worship alone. Praise and worship without the inward bowing of the heart is worthless. A loyal heart is just the thing the Lord desires! He instituted love and loyalty. His love is so loyal to us that instead of forgetting us because we forget Him, we are merely to turn back to Him and He will be found! Hallelujah! May the foundation of the altar of our praise be established on the fear of the Lord and may our loyalty be steadfast!
♥Luke 11:52 “Woe to you experts in the law! You have taken away the ____________ of _________________! You didn’t _______ ______ yourselves, and you _____________________ those who were going in.” We should open the meaning of the Word with the ‘key’ and then enter through the ‘door’! Knowledge is the only key to open heaven. Let us never substitute our knowledge for true knowledge – not ever.
♥Romans 10:2-3 I can testify about them that they have ____________ for God, but not according to ___________________. Because they disregarded the righteousness from God and attempted to establish their own righteousness, they have not submitted themselves to God’s righteousness. This begs the question. If there is zeal for God but it is not according to knowledge about Him then what is the zeal based on? Tradition? Assumptions? What is the foundation for your zeal for God? _____________________________We will not disregard the righteousness from God and foolishly think we are righteous according to any of the works we have been allowed to accomplish. Submit therefore to God.
♥Romans 11:33 Oh, the _________________ of the riches both of the wisdom and the __________________________ of God!
How _____________________ His judgments and _________________________ His ways! The depth of God! You will never come to the end of discovering His knowledge. Hallelujah!!! Picture yourself standing at the edge of the abyss of knowledge. Do you desire to stand and look, or to wade in slowly only going deep enough to turn back if needed, or do you desire to dive in…head first!!! I have always loved the second part of this verse regarding his untraceable ways. We will never be able to trace out the ways of God and figure out His purposes. Amen.
♥2 Co 2:14 But thank God! He has made us his __________________ and continues to lead us along in Christ’s ____________________ procession. Now he __________ __________ to spread the ___________________ of Christ everywhere, like a ___________ perfume. (NLT) But thanks be to God, who always puts us on display in Christ and through us spreads the aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place. (Holman). I have included two versions of the same verse here because of the choice of wording. I like the NLT opening line: But thank God! The word ‘display’ (Holman) means to make an acclamatory procession; cause to triumph! Because of Christ’s triumphal victory, God has allowed US to be the representatives of that victory! We are allowed to walk, head held high because of redemption, and therefore spread the knowledge of Christ every place we are led. As we do so, this knowledge is likened to God as the smell of a sweet perfume. It is our duty to spread the ‘sweet smelling’ knowledge of Christ to others. Even if it is not received, its ascent will not be hindered as it it rises to the heavens as a sweet, sweet smell because it is the aroma of the Son!
♥2 Co 4:6 For God who said, “Let _____________ shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the __________ of the ___________________ of God’s glory in the face of Jesus Christ. This verse flows so nicely it just seems to be one that must be memorized. God, the Father of lights (James 1:1) created the light to shine upon the earth (Genesis 1:3) and then sent his Son to the be the light of the world (John 8:12) when it became dark again. As God created all light to do, it shines so that all receive. Unless you hide yourself from either the sun or the Son, light indeed penetrates you. As the light of the Son has its intended influence, you are then to shine the light of the gospel to those that have hid themselves. The light of God’s knowledge is in Jesus Christ alone.
♥2 Co 10:4-5 We ______________ arguments and every __________-_____________ thing (pride or any other barrier) that is _______________ __________ against the _____________________ of God, taking every thought ______________ (expresses a continuous or repeated action) to obey Christ. Spiritual warfare requires spiritual weapons. Reliance on worldly knowledge and weapons do not crumble walls of strongholds where spiritual evil resides. Also, we must get into the practice of not accepting every thought that enters our mind as the knowledge of God. Questions should be asked. Did this come from God? Did this come from the enemy? Was this a thought of my natural intellect? Any argument or barrier that cause our eyes to gaze upon – now has our focus. Take those arguments and barriers captive (they are allowed to go nowhere else at this time). Hold them in your mind and put them to the test. Is it in agreement with the Word? Take as many Scriptures as you can and test the argument and barrier. Keep it captive until the question is resolved. If it does not line up with Scripture cast the argument or barrier to the ground and NEVER pick it up again. At this point, the argument or barrier is not allowed to pass to your heart. If it indeed lines up with what Scripture says, you can then allow it to pass from your mind into your heart. Your thoughts must be healthy and good.
♥Col. 1:9-11 For this reason also, since the day we heard this, we haven’t stopped praying for you. We are asking that you may be ____________ with the __________________ of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, so that you may ___________ ________________ of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him, bearing fruit in every good work and __________________ in the ____________________ of God. What a glorious thing indeed to receive the new birth! However, it shall not stop there. The intent is that our lives should be continually filled with wisdom and spiritual understanding in the knowledge of God’s daily will for us. May you continue growing in God’s knowledge and therefore bearing fruit in every good work!
♥Col. 3:10 You are _______________ _______________ in _____________________ ______________________ to the ___________________ of your Creator. Do you love the picture here? Your new self (if you have been born again, you have new blood – royal blood!) is continually renewed by knowledge of God. Being renewed means no oldness or decay but a continuous process of taking on the image of your Creator. You must know your creator, through the Word so that you recognize the knowledge you receive is indeed from God. When you receive knowledge, you immediately give praise to God because you know He is imparting a part of Him to you!
♥1 Tim. 6:20 ________________ what has been ____________________ to you, _______________ irreverent, empty speech and contradictions from the “knowledge” that falsely bears that name. Natural human knowledge opposes the truth of Scripture and inflates with pride. If anyone thinks he knows anything, he does not yet know it as he ought to know it. But if anyone loves God, he is known by Him (1 Col. 8:1-3) Guard your heart with the words and knowledge of Jesus, from the Book that has been entrusted to you. What are you doing with the knowledge that has been entrusted to you? Are you putting it into action?
♥2 Tim 3:7 …always learning and ________ ___________ to come to a ___________________ of the __________________. There are people who pose as someone who has learned the truth but in actuality have remained in ignorance. We want no part of this! When we gain God’s knowledge it must first be ‘chewed’ on, then ‘digested’, and then made to take up its permanent residence in the heart.
♥Hebrews 10:26-27 For if we ___________________ sin after receiving the _____________________ of the truth, there ______ __________________ remains a sacrifice for sins, but a terrifying ____________________ of _________________ and the fury of a fire about to consume the adversaries. This is speaking of people who have received the knowledge of the truth (christianity). If after receiving the knowledge of what God has done in Christ, the person then turns back to their old life and rejects Christ, there remains no sacrifice available for them for their sin. (put together with 2 Peter 2:20-21 below)
♥2 Peter 1:2 May ___________ and ______________ be ____________________ to you through the ______________________ (full discernment, precise and correct) of God and of Jesus our Lord. Grace and peace is the result of the knowledge of God which causes you to gradually approach nearer and nearer as you deeply contemplate this Source. This kind of knowledge implies love. It contrast the ‘knowledge’ spoken of in 1 Tim. 6:20 (above) which results in inward pride.
♥2 Peter 2:20-21 For if, having _____________________ the world’s ________________ through the __________________ of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again ___________________ in these things and _________________, the last state is worse for them than the first. For it would have been ______________ for them not to have __________ the way of righteousness than, ___________ knowing it, to ________ _________ from the holy command delivered to them. Not accepting the knowledge that Jesus is Lord and Savior is a better state to be in than accepting the knowledge and then turning away. Is it possible then for Christians to lose their salvation? (please read Hebrews 6:4-6, 10:26-27) Yes or No? (please circle) How do you feel about that?____________________________________________________________
